For placement working with children and vulnerable adults

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

It is personnel policy to check applicant details against Staffordshire social service client and personnel records and if necessary conduct a Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS). Therefore, please note that depending on the nature of the work placement, the candidate may have to undergo DBS approval; the subsequent placement will be subject to approval.

Data Protection

By providing the information contained within the form, you (the candidate) are consenting to its use by Staffordshire County Council and our authorised representatives for the purpose of processing your application, and monitoring the effectiveness of the Open Door Staffordshire Scheme.

Under the terms of the Data Protection Act 2018, the information you (the candidate) give Staffordshire County Council will be kept confidential and will only be used for the purpose of personnel management. We may contact other relevant organisations to check factual information you (the candidate) have given details of this form. The information will be stored manually and / or electronically and if unsuccessful this application will be securely disposed of after 12 months.

Who has access to your personal information?

Your information will be shared internally for the purposes of the process and only be accessed and processed by authorised personnel for the performance of their duties such as:

Employment Brokers
Placement Managers
External companies with work experience opportunities/potential job opportunities
People named by candidates as referees
The DBS for criminal records checks

We will not share your data with third parties without your consent and only send to companies who have potential opportunities agreed with you prior to sending information.

Third Party Processing

Staffordshire Jobs & Careers Brokerage Service has a number of contracts with third party suppliers and service providers e.g. External companies and partner organisations, Employment Agencies, training providers who provide specialist services. These third parties will process candidate information in accordance with our instructions and make decisions regarding the information as part of the delivery of their services. They are also required to put in place appropriate security measures that ensure an adequate level of protection for personal information.
